Investing in brand businesses
Marubeni is investing resources in the marketing and distribution of luxury consumer brands. As part of this strategy, we are working with Globe-Trotter and Mackintosh in the UK.
Globe-Trotter has been producing its stylish handmade suitcases in the UK for more than 100 years. Together we have opened several retail outlets in Tokyo and other major cities in Japan, as well as the flagship store in the heart of London's West End.
Recently we added 2 new product lines: the 110 collection – a light and innovative range of luggage made with carbon fibre and Kevlar, which was named after the brand's 110th anniversary, and the stylish Phantom collection, Globe-Trotter's first soft luggage collection.
Marubeni also has a well-established relationship with Mackintosh. In addition to their traditional raincoats and accessories, Mackintosh has introduced a completely new range under the Mackintosh Philosophy brand, which is licensed by Marubeni in Japan. With this new departure, fashion consumers now have a wider choice across different price ranges.
